Chapter 213: Elven Potion
Chapter 213: Elven Potion
"What do you mean by this?" Nedons’ face reddened in anger and embarrassment. How long had it been since someone dared to insult him like this? "I offered you a better price. I deserve this potion!"
"Who the hell are you to decide that?" Kadyn stood and strolled towards them, his blue eyes peering at Nedon. "This is my shop and I decide who deserves the product of my shop."
Nedon eyed him and narrowed his eyes. "You are the owner?"
"Yes," Kadyn replied.
Nedon sneered. "And this is how you do business? This is how you treat your customers? It is a common practice in the entire Vrilas that whoever offers the higher price would get the product."
"I don’t care what the entire Vrilas is doing, boy," Kadyn said with a cold voice, his patient was running out. "No one decides the rule of my shop. I do."
’Have you already forgotten about me?’ a voice said inside his head.
Kadyn rolled his eyes. ’Of course, you are the main boss, but I can’t tell them about you, can I?’
"Ahem, you are right. Carry on.’
Kadyn looked at Nedon and said, "Anyway, why are you arguing?"
"What?" Nedon said in confusion.
"I mean we have, at least, five breakthrough potions that would let you reach Creation Rank," Kadyn said with a mocking smile. "Why are you set on buying this same potion? Are you here to disturb my business?"
"I-I..." Nedon was shocked shut by his reply; his faces turning blue and green. He really didn’t examine the shop. He assumed that such a high level potion wouldn’t have another sample. He was wrong. His mind went numb as he spotted a mocking smile on Gelna’s face.
Nedon eyed here and there, trying to find a response. In the end, he turned and rushed out of the shop with a green face; his lackeys rushed behind him.
Kadyn turned towards Gelna and said, "Alright, you can look more around if you want. See if you can find something else." He looked at fox sisters and others and nodded before going back to his seat.
"Wow, he’s the owner," Arilie said with a twinkle in her eyes. "I thought he was one of the workers here."
"Isn’t he handsome, sister?" said the younger sister Arilile with a bright smile. "I didn’t pay much attention previously, but now when I look at him, he is as handsome as the elves, but without losing his masculine charm."
"That’s enough." Gelna chided them. "If you want to buy something, then make it fast. I need to go and cultivate."
"Yes, sister Gelna." Arilile stuck out her tongue at her sister and winked before going to another shelf.
Fifteen minutes later, everyone arrived in front of the counter for the transaction.
Arilie had already paid her money before Arilile arrived.
"I bought a Body Strengthening Potion," Arilile informed to her sister excitedly. "It would let my body become as strong as a Rank 3 monster. I’d be able to fight Creature Rank mage for a short period of time. It would help me tremendously in the competition. What did you buy, sister?"
"You will know in the competition," Arilie said with a smile.
"Not fair," pouted Arilile, but didn’t press her sister to tell her. Though the sisters joked around, only they knew how important the entrance exam was for them. They had used their entire fortune to increase their strength.
"Thank you, mister Kadyn," said Gelna when they were about to leave.
Kadyn waved his hand and said, "If you are grateful, then please tell your friends and family about our shop. I will be eternally grateful. You can see that our shop is not at an ideal place. Only a few people even know that it exists."
After the Demi-human group left, no customer came until the noon—at the noon, a familiar couple walked into the shop. They were the same people from yesterday. They were following another elf. He was tall and his skin was as white as milk. His pointed ears were poking out of the white hair that dangled on his shoulders.
He wore a white dress with long sleeves.
Kadyn eyed the man with interest.
Thallan, the man from yesterday, smiled. "Sir, this is—"
The man waved towards Thallan and introduced himself. "I’m Almon, the manager of the Elven Potion branch in Dewhurst." He extended his hand towards Kadyn.
Elven Potion was a brand name in the entire Vrilas, a largest potion business.
Kadyn gripped his hand in his own and smiled. "Nice to meet you, Mr. Almon. I’m Kadyn, owner of this place."
Almon studied him and then said, "Mr. Kadyn, I’m very interested in your business, and want to become your partner. What do you say?"
"Not interested," Kadyn replied flatly. Thallan and Imra’s faces twitched. This was the same reply he had given them.
Almon was also stunned. He had never thought that he would get such a dry and blunt reply in the return of his offer. He forced a smile and said, "I think Mr. Kadyn doesn’t know what we can bring to your business. In just three years your potion business will be able to dominate the market of the entire Virlas; just imagine how grand that would be."
"If my potion business will dominate the entire Vrilas, then what would happen to your Elven Potion? "
"..."
Almon was stunned and was unable to reply. He looked at his two companions, who shook their heads in reply, but thought in their heads. ’Weren’t you trying to act all high and mighty just now? Now deal with it yourself.’
Kadyn had no intention of entertaining the conversation anymore. "Dion," he said to the boy who was descending the stairs. "Send our guests out."
For the first time, Kadyn spotted a cold light in Almon’s eyes, but the man hid it immediately. "No need, Mr. Kadyn," said Almon without any emotion. "I’ll be taking my leave now."
Kadyn narrowed his eyes as he eyed Almon’s back.
Yesterday, when Kadyn rejected Thallan and Imra’s offer, he knew it wouldn’t end there. That’s why he sent Cecelia behind them to gather information about them. She didn’t disappoint him and found a lot of information.
It seems that whenever someone tried to build a potion business in Vrilas, the Elven Potion destroyed it. By hook or by crook. Or, they swallowed the entire business.
They could do all of this because the owner of Elven Potion was one of the strongest member in the World Magic Alliance.
