Chapter 27 I Don't Understand
Chapter 27 I Don't Understand
Xie Mingmu looked at the fork in the road ahead: "Of course it's because of you! Did you really think I was a genius?"
"Aren't you one? When I went to see you, your professor of Three Kingdoms law praised you as a legal genius."
Minami tried her best to appear relaxed and carefree, bringing up past anecdotes. She understood Xie Mingmu's meaning, but she hadn't figured out what to do yet, so she could only try to distract him by changing the subject.
Seeing the troubled look on Minami's face, Xie Mingmu didn't want to press her too much, so he could only go along with her: "You still have to say, do you know that after our trip, all the way until graduation, that Professor of the Three Kingdoms Law kept bringing this up?"
Xie Mingmu glanced at his watch, then turned to look at Mina, smiling wryly, "I reckon Mr. Sasaki is bringing this up again now."
"Okay, okay, stop talking." Mina covered her face shyly.
"Now I want to ask, in the example just now, which of the four people, A, B, C, and D, couldn't receive protection?"
Sasaki paused for a moment, then looked around the lecture hall: "Which student can answer this?"
Silence filled the classroom at that moment, a phenomenon that should be universal. Sasaki could only randomly choose one lucky student, "This girl."
Seeing that Mina didn't react, Sasaki added details: "The girl in the white shirt in the fourth row."
Mina stared at her clothes in horror, swallowed hard, and looked around to make sure that the teacher was calling her. Just as Mina's mind went blank, Sasaki's voice came again.
"Who can't get protection?"
Mina stood up with a slight tremor, then secretly tugged at Xie Mingmu's clothes, but unfortunately, Xie Mingmu was busy researching the place they were going to visit, so she could only helplessly say, "I wasn't listening."
Mina couldn't imagine how Xie Mingmu, with a temperature of 36.5 degrees Celsius, could utter words at -273.15 degrees Celsius: "You'd rather die than help, Xie Mingmu."
"What? You're taking so long to figure out such a simple question?"
Sasaki was somewhat confused, just as some people don't understand why a person can't learn calculus by the age of fourteen.
Just like some people don't understand why 80 people can't beat 60 people.
"Hmm~~" Mina pondered for a moment, then could only guess, "Then let's arrest them all."
The classroom instantly filled with a cheerful atmosphere. Xie Mingmu looked at Mina as if she were an alien, while Sasaki was also furious. He could understand if a student answered incorrectly, but wasn't this error a bit too outrageous? Utterly ignorant and beyond redemption!!
Just as Sasaki was about to severely reprimand Mina, someone finally extended a helping hand: "Professor, she's not from our department."
Classes held in lecture halls are usually large lectures, attended by all students of the same year in the college. Therefore, other students do not know that Mina is not only not from their college, but also not from their university, and is not even a college student.
"Oh, goodness, Masaka, is this student so interested in my lecture on 'Public International Law'?" Sasaki began to feel a little pleased, thinking that his reputation had spread to other colleges.
"Professor, she's here to find a boyfriend."
"Oh? Looking for a boyfriend?" Sasaki's interest was piqued; this was quite unusual. "May I ask whose girlfriend she is?"
There was no other way; things had already come to this point. Xie Mingmu could only stand up and, together with Mingjing Nan, accept the stares of the more than two hundred people in the lecture hall: "Mine."
"It's you! I'm telling you, Xie Mingmu!" Sasaki had a deep impression of Xie Mingmu, partly because of his good looks, which were comparable to Takuya Kimura at his peak.
Secondly, she has excellent eloquence, having even participated in debate competitions in Hawaii. "It's not enough for just one person to be good at studying; family education is also extremely important."
Thinking of this, Sasaki became somewhat earnest, while the audience burst into laughter. Mina and Xie Mingmu, on the other hand, were filled with anxiety, hoping the bell would ring soon.
"Just imagine, our girlfriend, a top student from the prestigious law school, is completely ignorant about the law. We'd be so embarrassed if we went out in public like that!"
Xie Mingmu looked at Mingi Mina with resentment in his eyes, "I told you not to help me!" Mingi Mina said righteously.
Although it was embarrassing at the time, it's quite funny when I think about it now. At least now, Mina has gone from being shy at the beginning to smiling and patting Xie Mingmu on the shoulder.
Xie Mingmu took Mina's hand in his and said, "From now on, when you talk to me, please use Japanese. You sound especially cute and gentle when you speak Japanese, but when you speak Korean, I feel like I'm very far away from you."
"Does that mean I'm not gentle and cute when I speak Korean?"
Sensing a hint of murderous intent in Mina's tone, Xie Mingmu quickly changed his words: "Well, you'll become a little too charming, I'm afraid I won't be able to handle it."
"Hehe," Mina said with a laugh, then used the words Xie Mingmu had taught her: "Handsome guy~~, how about I call you that?"
Upon hearing the word "handsome guy," Xie Mingmu's eyebrows shot up in a wide smile. Seeing Xie Mingmu looking like a fool, Mina also chuckled inexplicably: "You're still like this, laughing out of the blue."
"Of course! A cheerful disposition brings good luck!"
"Shouldn't you still be in school at this time? Why are you here?" Mina took the opportunity to ask the question she most wanted to know.
"Because I'm a genius, and I've come to the peninsula to find you and bring you back," Xie Mingmu said sincerely.
Looking at Xie Mingmu's expression, Mina knew he wasn't lying. She wavered a little, but still pursed her lips and didn't give Xie Mingmu any response, yet it seemed as if she had given him everything.
Minami walked forward with her head down, choosing the left-hand path, while Xie Mingmu headed towards the right-hand passage.
Xie Mingmu continued through the maze, kicking at small pebbles, when Mina's voice came from behind him: "Don't go that way, you can't get out that way."
Xie Mingmu seemed to understand something and followed Mina. Perhaps Mina's words were just a well-intentioned reminder and didn't mean anything, but at least Mina didn't dislike Xie Mingmu, which showed that getting back together was a slow and gradual process.
Xie Mingmu wanted something else, but his earlier outburst had exhausted all the courage he had accumulated that day, making it unlikely that he would speak up. The two of them walked on, the only sound being the crunch of their feet on the gravel.
In this tranquility, Xie Mingmu felt a sense of warmth, as if the distance between the two of them, which had been separated for several years, was slowly disappearing.
After much deliberation, Mina knew she couldn't delay any longer and had to make things clear to Xie Mingmu: "Right now, I just need friends."
